Mountain-breeding dotterels could be first UK bird lost to climate change, RSPB warns as population falls 89%

"Dotterel are in steep decline, and we are seeing them disappearing before our very eyes," the RSPB's Dr Leah Kelly said as a survey showed the dotterel's remaining numbers are restricted to the eastern and northern Highlands of Scotland.
