By 2004 the last mainstream production cars with pop-up lights were made: the Lotus Esprit V8 and Corvette C5. Here we revisit 50 of the greatest car designs to feature concealed headlights; most pop up but there are a few variations on the theme. When Cord introduced its L-29 in 1929 it was the first US-produced front-wheel drive car.
